Al Roker is the latest celebrity to lend his authoritarian tenor to the railroad and remind us to not fall in the gap between trains.
As was reported here six weeks ago, CNBC “Money Honey” Maria Bartiromo kicked off the Grand Central public service announcements, and now it’s everyone’s favorite formerly fat weatherman who’s taken up the task, reports today’s NY Times.
Columnist Susan Dominus takes to the train station to gauge reaction, and finds out that people are either pretty good at tuning out the nattering, or they’re turned off by it. “I found it disconcerting,” said Maureen Golden of Bedford. “It was almost like subliminal advertising for [Bartiromo].”
Roker hit the Penn Station airwaves Friday, and will soon fill the hallowed halls of Grand Central too.
