Time Has Been Added to The Game Clock
Our season has been under review, and the referees have made the call. Change is in the air, and on the rails of NJ Transit. New schedules went into effect Sunday, and my evening western sunchaser shifts from 5:14 to 5:19.
That’s a critical five extra minutes worth of 9 to 5 commuters pouring into Penn Station, and boarding the 5:19 for the burbs. But to likely offset that crowd, NJ Transit has removed stops in Maplewood and Summit, and added Brick Church and Orange.
I won’t miss the massive Maplewood crowd, nor the long wave of Summitrons, that slowly disembarked at their stations each night.
The South Orange folks get penalized here, arriving five minutes later than they used to. My commute now also takes two minutes longer.
Five minutes later, and two minutes longer. Not a favorable call for the hometown fans.
