Check out this tasty morsel of vintage cheese–a Metro-North TV commercial from the early ’90s.
The train ride home, the commercial says, allows the rider to “turn back into a father, a mother, a Little League coach.”
A special bonus for riders on the New Haven Line: They get to see the old train cars that they haven’t seen since, well, this morning.
Thanks to IRidetheHarlemLine for digging it out.
That hurt
I love how the ‘narrative’ is that people are ‘shell shocked’ from being in the city at work – c’mon folks, it’s not that bad!
I auditioned for this commercial, and I think they liked me, but I kept reading the script too fast. The director kept saying “slow it down!”, but I think I was just too nervous. Debbie, the conductor seen here, recently retired on a disability.
