We actually encountered two Words of the Week on our 8:16 out of Hawthorne this morning.
RIO GRANDE LATTE /reeoh GRAHNDAY lahtay/ noun: Rivers of coffee and other spilled beverages streaming down the floor on a Metro-North train. (a.k.a. Mississ-sippy River)
Usage: This Rio Grande Latte rolling underfoot on the 8:28 to the city basically ruined my new Tumi briefcase.
Which will soon turn into:
STARMUCKS /STARR muks/ noun: The sticky, brown coffee residue on the train floor that creates an unpleasant bond between your shoe and the ground.
Usage: I almost missed my Harrison stop because my foot was caught in some Starmucks.
