Christmas Carol Train Hits Grand Central
Posted by TJ under Grand Central, Vanderbilt Hall
A train hyping the new Disney film “A Christmas Carol” hits Grand Central later this week. The train started in Los Angeles and has been making its way east since May, enticing children in some 40 cities to beg their parents to see the film, which stars Jim Carrey and debuts Nov. 6.
It’s a good thing that Disney is doing a “Christmas Carol” movie, because you just don’t get enough A Christmas Carol stuff, whether it’s a play, a movie, a stage reading, lame sitcoms lamely co-opting the plot for their lame purposes, or dogs playing the parts of Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit.
To its credit, Disney is adding something to the mix by doing the movie in 3D.
The train is packed with artifacts from the Dickens museum in London and other “Christmas Carol” totchkes. Here are the dates and times for the five-car holiday train, which will be on Track 37, with other exhibits in Vanderbilt Hall.
October 30 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
October 31 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
November 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
