Circuit Training
Benjamin loves trains.
He’s 3-3/4 years old and can name the stops on each of the subway lines, one after the other, in order. You can quiz him on the stops – it’s the kind of challenge he relishes. He can also count past one thousand and do addition and subtraction.
Benjamin’s father takes him on subway rides on weekend mornings because, well, that’s what Benjamin loves to do, ride the rails. Today’s circuit, in his words was as follows:
“We went from the 7 on 82nd Street station to 74th, then changed to the E to Sutphin Boulevard. Then we got off to the J to Broadway Junction then changed to the L to Lorimer Street. We took the G to Court Square then the 7 back to 82nd Street. We made a circle and came back to here.”
“What did you like the best about the ride?” I asked.
“The L train,” Benjamin said. “That was the best stop. And Broadway Junction. There was so many trees. Every tree was outside!”
Benjamin’s no straphanger in training. He was born to ride.
