Imagine This 

Imagine this…

 

The subway doors open and six people enter an empty car. Each of them takes a seat next to the rail by the door.

 

At each successive stop as people step into the car, they sit down next to each other, no wasted space between them, hip to hip, no knees touching.

 

By the time the car is full every available space on the benches lining each wall of the car has been taken. There are no large gaping holes between travelers, no papers taking up potential seats, no passenger bags, no wide-legged passengers with knees out beyond their hips taking up an extra half space to either side.

Can you imagine this?
