Childhood friend DanTheMan offers up this on Tartan Week in Grand Central:

The bagpipes and their accompaniment were ridiculously loud. I wasn’t even that close and felt like I would never hear quite as well again. I guess the acoustics in the terminal contributed to that. I don’t think I have ever heard bagpipes played indoors before.

I walked around one of the setups and perused some display tables. There was a lot on Scottish tourism opportunities and “getting in touch with your heritage.” Most of the people around me did not look very Scottish (whatever that means.) Also a display of Scotch, Scottish clothing, and some other stuff.

There were a fair amount of people walking around checking stuff out. There was another room of displays but it was much closer to where the music was coming from so I could not really explore it.
